Sybase DBA

JD - Must Haves

Minimum 7 years experience in Database Administration

Recent experience with Sybase, and Unix

Basic scripting knowledge: Unix shell scripting

Knowledge of other database technologies is a plus

Basic awareness of Unix server administration, storage, and data networking

Ability to develop standard operating plans and procedures and coach others in their use

Experience with Sybase Replication, Patching, and upgradation

Experience with database management. ITIL process and monitoring tools

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with immediate team members, other IS areas, and clients in other departments

Ability to effectively communicate issues and solutions across all levels of the organization

Ability to influence and coach peers

Monitors and refines processes, procedures, and systems to optimize operational stability and/or integrity and recommends and/or implements improvements.

Administer audit-based processes for evaluating and submitting evidence, and updating processes and other documentation as needed.

Experience resolving complex problems logically and methodically, and good judgment to involve and communicate with vendors, internal teams, and management.

Ability to maintain Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and provide support for BCP exercises and actual disaster recovery.

What are the nice to haves for this role

DBA experience in other DBMS technologies such as SQL Server/DB2 LUW

Experience using the following methodologies:

Scrum, Agile, SAFe, Kanban

Mandatory Skills: SYBASE Database Admin .
