  • Patient preparation and care: Explain the procedure, answer questions, ensure patient comfort and safety, and position the patient correctly for the scan.
  • Equipment operation: Safely operate X-ray and other diagnostic imaging equipment by adjusting settings and angles to produce high-quality images.
  • Image evaluation: Review the images to ensure they meet diagnostic quality standards before submitting them for review by a radiologist.
  • Safety protocols: Adhere strictly to radiation safety guidelines to minimize patient and staff exposure, using protective devices like lead aprons as needed.
  • Record keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, including procedure details and captured images, and enter them into the radiology information system.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide the necessary images for diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Equipment maintenance: Perform routine checks and calibration to ensure the imaging equipment is in proper working order.
