Position Summary:

We are looking for an Azure Cloud Lead Engineer to architect scalable, secure Azure solutions and drive FinOps practices to optimize cloud spend. The role focuses on modernizing workloads, standardizing architectures, and enforcing cost governance across enterprise Azure environments.

What will your job entail?

Key Responsibilities:

FinOps & Cloud Cost Optimization:

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize cloud costs in Azure
  • Monitor cloud usage and spending trends, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising performance or reliability.
  • Recommend and enforce reserved instance or savings plans, right-sizing, and other cost-control measures.
  • Lead the organization's FinOps efforts to establish a culture of cost accountability and transparency across teams.
  • Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to create detailed reporting and forecasting for cloud expenses.
  • Build and maintain dashboards to provide visibility into cloud costs and usage for stakeholders at all levels.

Cloud Architecture and Governance:

  • Collaborate with cloud architects to design cost-efficient and scalable cloud solutions.
  • Define and enforce governance policies for resource provisioning and utilization to prevent over-provisioning and waste.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards related to cloud usage.
  • Partner with development and operations teams to ensure cloud infrastructure aligns with project goals and budget constraints.
  • Communicate complex cloud cost optimization strategies to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications

  • Prefer 8+ years in cloud engineering/architecture, 3+ years on Azure.
  • Proven experience with Azure Cost Management, Advisor, and FinOps tools.
  • Experience with FinOps principles and frameworks, including cost allocation, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong expertise in networking, security, and governance within Azure.
  • Proficiency in IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM), PowerShell and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, FinOps Certified Practitioner (preferred).
