Workday Integration Technical Expert & Lead


Role and Responsibilities –

  1. Hands-on Workday Integration Development

  2. Design, develop, and test complex Workday integrations between internal systems and external vendors.

  3. Translate business and functional requirements into technical integration specifications.
  4. Perform data mapping, transformation, and validation activities.
  5. Develop and maintain inbound/outbound integrations leveraging Workday's Integration Framework.

  6. Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring mechanisms for all integrations.

  7. Technical Leadership -

  8. Lead the design, development, and implementation of Workday integrations using tools such as: Core Connectors, PECI,Workday Studio, EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs), Workday Extend (if applicable)

  9. Define integration architecture and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
  10. Review code, provide technical mentorship, and enforce quality assurance
  11. Ensure integrations comply with data security, privacy, and audit requirements

  12. Establish and enforce integration standards, naming conventions, and deployment practices

  13. Project Delivery & Coordination

  14. Serve as the technical lead in Workday Integration implementation and enhancement projects.

  15. Collaborate with HRIS, IS/IT and vendor teams to ensure successful delivery.
  16. Plan and prioritize integration activities to align with project timelines.

  17. Conduct impact analysis for system upgrades and integration changes.

  18. Testing, Deployment & Support

  19. Oversee unit testing, SIT, and UAT for all Workday integrations.

  20. Support post-go-live operations, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and issue resolution.
  21. Maintain integration documentation, version control
  22. Monitor production integrations and proactively address failures or performance issues.

Skills Required

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Integration development.
  • Strong expertise in: Core Connectors, PECI, Workday Studio, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST), EIB, Raas, WECI, PICOF, API Specification, XSLT, XML, JSON, DIS, OAUTH 2.0, XPATH.
  • Deep understanding of Workday HCM and Security frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead integration teams, define best practices, and ensure quality delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in Agile or Hybrid delivery environments.
  • API Management Tool - APIGEE

Work Experience –

  • Minimum 5 + years of experience in Workday and Workday Integration.
  • Should have Experience in Managing Workday Integration Team technically.

Educational Requirements -

  • B.Tech/ Engineering or Postgraduate.
