Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and self-driven Hardware/ Sr. Hardware Engineer to join our R&D team focused on designing International Smart Energy Meters. You will be responsible for end-to-end hardware developmentcovering schematics, PCB design, component selection, compliance testing, and supporting field deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop embedded hardware systems for Smart Energy Meters for various countries.
  • Create schematics and multilayer PCB layouts.
  • Select microcontrollers, power supply topology, ADCs, isolation components, LCD Display, memories, RS485/RS232/Ethernet/CAN transceivers.
  • Design digital & analog front ends for sensor interfaces.
  • Interface with wireless/ cellular modules (LTE, Mesh RF, WI SUN, Bluetooth, NB-IoT).
  • Ensure EMI/EMC, surge, and ESD compliance.
  • Develop test procedures and assist in prototype bring-up, debugging, and validation.
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and system engineers to meet design objectives.
  • Support BOM optimization, DFM/DFT practices, and product certifications (IP, CE, IEC etc).
  • Document design outputs (schematics, layout files, BoM, test reports).

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering.
  • 38 years of experience in hardware design for Smart Electricity Meters.
  • Strong in analog/ digital circuit design, power supply design (DC-DC, LDOs).
  • Hands-on with SoC-based designs (Renesas, TI, NXP, ST, etc.).
  • Exposure to communication technologies: RS232/ 485, Ethernet, 4G/NB-IoT, RF, BLE.
  • Working knowledge of compliance and protection design (surge, isolation, filtering).

Education

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics, Embedded Systems, Electrical
