Overview

This position is for a Data Engineer for a team that works on a long-term software project

for a US client. The job location is Trivandrum, India. He/ she will be communicating with

the client representatives in the USA, both for technical and management aspects.

Communication will be through various modes of collaboration including web

conferences, emails, and other web tools. Work involves building high quality, scalable

and resilient distributed systems that power the analytics platforms and data pipelines.

He/ she will be responsible for taking each assigned task to completion ensuring the

quality of deliverables. Should have self-initiatives, decision making and self-directing

capabilities to work with minimal supervision and a "go-getter" attitude.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop key components of the platform.
  • Design and manage large scale data systems.
  • Work closely with software engineers to build ETL pipelines around our data

sources, applications, deployments, and integrations.

  • Support Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists to automate and

optimize data discovery, access, and feature enrichment.

  • Participate in data modeling, schema design, and SQL development Ingest and

aggregate data from both internal and external data sources to build datasets.

  • Be involved in testing and fixing of new or enhanced solutions for data products

and reports, including automating ETL testing.

  • Assist with the development and review of technical and end user documentation

including ETL workflows, research, and data analysis.

  • Build monitoring dashboards and automate data quality testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements.
  • Mentor junior members of the team.
  • Work closely with stake holders including customers to ensure successful

execution of the project.

  • Manage priority changes and conflicts gracefully with stakeholders involved.
  • Address customer escalations and be able to think at fast pace to identify and

solve issues in the product.

  • Proactively use/ suggest tools and systems to improve quality, productivity etc.
  • Stay up to date on relevant technology and process advancements.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 4+ years' experience in data analytics and/or data management.
  • Proficient in Python.
  • Experience in Azure DataFactory and Databricks
  • Experience in SQL, data modeling and managing databases
  • Experience in building and optimizing ETL pipelines
  • Desirable to have experience with Apache Spark + other big data tools.
  • Desirable to have experience working with Apache Airflow.
  • Desirable to have experience working with Postgres, Oracle, MS SQL.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering discipline - Computer/

Electronics.
