Required Qualifications :

B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Fire Officer Course

Role & responsibilities :

• Ensuring the implementation of company OHS Policy and procedures and perform all duties as per Rules. Planning, implementation and managing all company OHS initiatives introduced.
• Knowledge about Firefighting system like fire extinguishers, hydrant, spray (HVWS), CO2 flooding system, inergen system (IG541), Foam flooding system, Fire tenders & detecting system like smoke, heat & multi detection, LHDS are installed at our plant to mitigate emergency situation.
• Conducting regular safety inspections and audits for all areas of work in coordination with the Plant personnel to ensure necessary safety precautions are followed.
• Assisting line personnel in task risk assessments, plant safety inspections, safety audits, and incident investigations.
• Developing and implementation of Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), Permit to Work (PTW) and LOTO system as and then required.
• Effective participation in tool-box talks or procedure talks to assist the line supervisors (including contract). Effective participation in improvements to the Health & Safety Management System and emergency response.
• Coordinate all OHS audits, campaigns & competitions etc.
• Conducting training for workforce on various OHS topics.
• Investigation and reporting of incidents/ near miss cases.
• Conducting Mock Drills at the work site as well as in Co. premises/surrounding villages to train the employees, their families and villagers to aware in case of real emergency.
• Advice on Safety & Health matters to operate the OHS management system in the Plant effectively.
• Initiate updating/revising OHS plan, procedures etc. as and when required.
• Participate in OHS meetings in the Plant whenever possible. Use and care of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Participate in departmental OHS meetings and prepare Departmental Monthly Progress Report for management Review.
• Develop OHS promotion/ Education materials.
• Prepare OHS statistics for Management Review.

Functional Competency :

• Has to be an implementor and one who can show strong field experience in the Safety Management.
• Needs to be strong minded with considerable knowledge in OHSAS 18001 management system.
