Role purpose
Key Accountabilities
Required experience
We are seeking a highly skilled
Data Modeler
with hands-on experience in designing and implementing data models using industry-standard modeling tools. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in
SQL
, experience working in
AWS cloud environments
, and a deep understanding of
Redshift
and related AWS data services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business requirements.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries and entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) using data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, ER/Studio, or similar).
  • Collaborate with data architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to define data structures and optimize data flows.
  • Implement and manage data models on AWS Redshift and other cloud-native services (S3, Glue, Lambda, etc.).
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance across data pipelines and modeling efforts.
  • Optimize queries and model designs for performance and scalability.
  • Maintain and evolve existing models in response to changing business needs.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in data modeling for enterprise-scale systems.
  • Hands-on proficiency with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or similar.
  • Strong expertise in SQL for data analysis, transformation, and schema design.
  • Experience working with AWS Redshift and related AWS data services.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, normalization/denormalization, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and integration with cloud-based data sources.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

You'll work within IDP's
Enterprise Data Engineering & Governance team
, partnering with product owners, data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to align data models with IDP's data strategy and enterprise vision

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Translating business requirements into robust long-term conceptual and physical data models.
  • Creating and optimizing data flows and metadata models, including governance standards
  • Conducting system evaluation, troubleshooting, data validation, and performance tuning of existing implementations
  • Producing documentation like SOPs, training materials, knowledge base articles, and ER diagrams
