Role Task Sheet EV Delivery Driver (Furniture Delivery & Assembly Support)

Role Title: EV Delivery Driver (with Carpenter Assistance Duties)

Department: Logistics & Customer Service

Reporting To: Logistics Manager / Store Manager

Primary Role Objective

To ensure safe, timely, and professional delivery of furniture to customer locations using an EV vehicle, while assisting the carpenter in assembly, installation, and customer satisfaction at the site.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vehicle Operations & Delivery

  • Safely operate the EV vehicle and adhere to all traffic and safety regulations.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (battery level, tire pressure, brakes, lights, etc.).
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and charged for daily operations.
  • Load and unload furniture items with care to prevent damage.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, trip sheets, and mileage records.

2. Furniture Handling & Site Delivery

  • Ensure safe handling of wooden and upholstered furniture during loading, transport, and unloading.
  • Carry furniture to the designated area inside customer premises, with proper lifting techniques to avoid injury/damage.
  • Verify delivery items against customer invoices before unloading.
  • Communicate courteously with customers and represent Khaticraft professionally.

3. Assistance in Assembly & Fitting

  • Support the carpenter in unpacking and organizing tools and hardware.
  • Assist in holding, aligning, and assembling furniture as per carpenters instructions.
  • Help in fixing, fitting, and placing furniture in the designated customer area.
  • Ensure the site is left clean after delivery and installation (removing packaging material, dust, etc.).

4. Customer Interaction & Service

  • Greet customers politely and ensure a positive delivery experience.
  • Inform the carpenter/manager of any customer concerns or issues during delivery.
  • Obtain customer signature/confirmation of delivery and installation.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety guidelines while driving, lifting, and handling furniture.
  • Wear company uniform and safety gear (gloves, safety shoes, etc.) at all times.
  • Report accidents, damages, or vehicle issues immediately to the manager.

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • On-time delivery completion rate.
  • Zero damage to products during transit and handling.
  • Customer satisfaction/feedback scores.
  • Vehicle maintenance & cleanliness.
  • Teamwork with carpenter and adherence to site protocols.

Skills & Competencies Required

  • Valid driving license (with EV driving knowledge preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of handling wooden furniture.
  • Physical fitness to lift, carry, and assist in furniture assembly.
  • Good communication and customer service attitude.
  • Punctuality, discipline, and teamwork.

Work Conditions

  • Work involves travel within city limits (and occasionally outside).
  • Heavy lifting and physical activity required.
  • Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays, as per customer delivery schedules.
