 Job Summary:

The Engineering Drafter plays a key role in transforming conceptual designs and engineering inputs into precise 2D and 3D technical drawings. The role involves creating and managing CAD models and engineering documentation to support product development, prototyping, and manufacturing activities. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure drawings and related documents meet internal and industry standards.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Interpret design concepts, sketches, and verbal instructions to produce accurate drafts.
• Ensure that drawings comply with applicable standards (ASME, ISO) and company guidelines.
• Revise drawings based on feedback from engineers and project stakeholders.
• Maintain version control and manage drawing revisions in an organized and traceable manner.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand technical and functional requirements.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and parts lists.
• Ensure all technical drawings are clear, manufacturable, and production-ready.
• Prepare and manage engineering documentation such as Qualification Plans, Control Plans, and PFMEAs.

 Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and technical drawing standards.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Good knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), fits, and welding symbols.
• Familiarity with sheet metal design processes including laser cutting, bending, and forming.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing methods and production workflows.
• Good understanding of AS9100D requirements and engineering documentation protocols.
• Attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.

 Preferred Education & Experience:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in drafting/design within manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial environments.
• Experience with document control systems and PLM tools is a plus.
