Job Description:

A Design Engineer is responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and refining the design of various technical products, machines, and frameworks. The role requires strong expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with hands-on experience in Sheet Metal and Weldments. Additionally, the candidate must be proficient in 3D printer operation, as they will be responsible for handling and operating 3D printers for prototyping and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product & Machine Design: Develop technical product designs, including machine structures, frameworks, and industrial equipment, using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Sheet Metal & Weldments: Design sheet metal components and welded structures, ensuring manufacturability and structural integrity.
  • 3D Printing & Prototyping: Operate and maintain 3D printers, create prototypes, and validate designs through functional testing.
  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and fabricators to discuss designs, material selection, and manufacturing processes. Conduct on-site visits as needed.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify design challenges and develop practical solutions to improve efficiency, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest advancements in CAD, 3D Printing, and fabrication technologies to enhance design capabilities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (Sheet Metal, Weldments, Assemblies) & AutoCAD
  • Experience with 3D printing, including operation and troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and fabrication methods
  • Good communication skills for vendor coordination and team collaboration
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
