The CT & X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality CT scans and general radiography procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate diagnostic imaging. The role supports physicians in diagnosis and treatment through precise imaging, adherence to clinical protocols, and compliance with radiation safety standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Technical Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans and X-ray procedures as per prescribed protocols.
- Ensure correct patient positioning, anatomical coverage, and imaging parameters.
- Operate CT and digital radiography equipment safely and efficiently.
- Review images for clarity, quality, and diagnostic usefulness before releasing to radiologist.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment; promptly report any malfunction.
- Perform contrast-enhanced CT procedures following safety protocols.
2. Patient Care
- Verify patient identity and review clinical history/requisition.
- Explain procedure, obtain consent, and ensure patient comfort.
- Monitor patients during contrast administration for any adverse reactions.
- Follow infection control, patient privacy, and safety protocols at all times.
3. Radiation Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
- Use protective equipment and ensure shielding for patients and staff.
- Maintain accurate radiation dose records according to AERB guidelines.
- Comply with hospital policies, NABH standards, and local regulatory requirements.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of procedures performed.
- Upload images to PACS with correct demographic information.
- Assist radiologists with image retrieval and additional imaging requirements.
- Ensure timely completion of documentation, logbooks, and QA forms.
5. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with nursing, emergency, and physician teams for imaging needs.
- Prioritize cases based on clinical urgency.
- Participate in departmental meetings, audits, and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / BSc in Radiology / Medical Imaging Technology.
- Certified CT Technologist preferred.
- Valid AERB License (essential).
- Minimum 3–8 years experience in CT and X-ray imaging .
- Knowledge of PACS/RIS and radiology workflows.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, imaging protocols, and radiographic techniques.
- Excellent patient-handling skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in emergency/trauma settings.
- Attention to detail with strong technical accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Work Conditions
- Rotational shifts as per department schedule.
- Exposure to radiation (with protective measures).
- On-call duties as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹21, ₹30,000.00 per month
