Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically profound Staff Software Test Engineer with 1014 years of in-depth experience in Software Quality Engineering and Assurance.

This role demands a proven background as a top-tier individual contributor capable of testing highly complex, scalable, and reliable distributed systems, with deep expertise in storage architecture (NAS, Cloud, and protocols).

The engineer will own the complete testing lifecycle, drive test strategy, write advanced automation scripts, and provide critical, real-time troubleshooting support for complex customer issues.

Key Responsibilities :

Advanced Quality Engineering and Strategy :

- Lead in-depth Software Quality Engineering/Assurance work, covering both functional and non-functional aspects (e.g., performance, scalability, reliability) of highly complex products.

- Drive the entire quality lifecycle as a key individual contributor, ensuring the stability of distributed and high-scale software.

- Develop and own comprehensive test strategies and detailed test plans for major product features and architectural changes.

- Successfully take up a variety of roles and responsibilities typical of a dynamic start-up environment.

Storage Systems and Protocol Expertise :

- Apply a strong technology understanding of storage architecture gained from working with major vendors (e.g., Dell, NetApp, EMC, etc.).

- Demonstrate mandatory hands-on experience with one or more NAS, Cloud storage, and critical storage protocols like NFS, CIFS, and S3.

- Possess experience in one or more related system software projects, such as operating systems, file systems, and hypervisors.

- Maintain a good working experience in Operating Systems, Networking, Storage, and Cloud concepts.

Automation and Technical Troubleshooting :

- Demonstrate mandatory hands-on experience in Python Scripting, along with programming proficiency in Shell, Perl, and Java for developing robust automation frameworks and tools.

- Utilize a strong ability to troubleshoot customer issues quickly, collaborating directly with the Support team to provide on-the-spot workarounds/scripts/solutions to customers.

- Apply experience with Agile software development methodologies and principles to integrate testing seamlessly into the development process.

- Maintain the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications :

- Experience : Mandatory 10 to 13 years of in-depth experience in Software Quality Engineering/Assurance, focusing on functional and non-functional testing.

- Storage Expertise (Mandatory) : Proven understanding of storage architecture and hands-on experience with NAS, Cloud storage, and protocols (NFS, CIFS, S3).

- Scripting/Programming (Mandatory) : Mandatory hands-on expertise in Python Scripting, with proficiency in Shell, Perl, and Java.

- Systems Background : Experience with distributed systems and one or more related system software projects (operating systems, file systems, hypervisors).

- Education : BS /MS in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience designing and implementing performance and load testing strategies for distributed storage systems.

- Deep knowledge of at least one major cloud provider's storage services (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage).

- Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading quality initiatives across multiple scrum teams.
