Overview: The role of an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) Operator is crucial to the organization's environmental sustainability efforts. ETP Operators play a key role in ensuring the proper functioning of the ETP and compliance with environmental regulations. They are responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment to treat industrial wastewater before it is released back into the environment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and control ETP processes to ensure efficient treatment of wastewater
  • Perform regular checks and tests on the ETP systems to maintain optimal performance
  • Conduct chemical handling and dosing to facilitate effective wastewater treatment
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as pumps, blowers, and filters
  • Respond to alarms and take appropriate actions during ETP process upsets
  • Record and maintain accurate logs of operational data and process parameters
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean working environment
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance
  • Participate in environmental compliance inspections and audits
  • Implement corrective actions to address any non-compliance issues
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in ETP operations or similar role
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and chemical handling
  • Ability to interpret and analyze operational data and trends
  • Familiarity with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
  • Good communication skills for teamwork and reporting
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in a demanding industrial environment
  • Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergency situations
