About the Role

We are seeking a visionary SAP Technical Architect to lead the design and implementation of our SAP landscape. You will play a pivotal role in architecting scalable SAP solutions that blend ABAP, HANA, Fiori / UI5, and integration technologies (PI/PO, CPI) — with a strong focus on both on‑premise and cloud (AWS/Azure) deployments. You will drive technical excellence, best practices, and innovation on S/4HANA and custom extensions, ensuring our SAP systems are robust, future-ready, and aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall SAP technical architecture for S/4HANA implementation, custom development, and system landscape design.
• Develop and enforce architecture standards, governance, and best practices for ABAP development, Fiori / UI5, database design, and integrations.
• Design and manage integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems using PI/PO, CPI, middleware, APIs, and web services.
• Architect and optimize SAP HANA database performance — data models, CDS views, AMDPs, etc.
• Lead custom development in ABAP, ensuring clean core principles, performance tuning, and maintainability.
• Oversee Fiori / UI5 / SAPUI5 solution architecture — design high-performance, responsive UIs and custom applications.
• Drive cloud adoption of SAP — architect SAP deployments on AWS or Azure, including hybrid and on-prem setups.
• Collaborate with functional leads and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable SAP technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership during SAP S/4HANA migrations, upgrades, Greenfield / Brownfield implementations, or selective data transitions. (As seen in Sopra Steria's architect role.) SmartRecruiters
• Mentor and guide a team of SAP developers (ABAP, Basis, UI5) in design, code reviews, and issue resolution.
• Design for high availability, disaster recovery, and system resilience in SAP landscapes — especially for large-scale S/4 deployments.
• Ensure proper system documentation: architecture diagrams, integration maps, transport strategy, and security design.
• Champion CI/CD and DevOps practices within SAP development teams to improve deployment speed and reliability.
• Keep up with SAP's evolving technology stack (HANA, BTP, CPI, S/4 features) and provide recommendations for adoption.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• ~8 years of SAP technical experience, including ABAP development, Basis / system architecture, or integration.
• Deep expertise in SAP ABAP — including OO ABAP, performance optimization, and ABAP on HANA.
• Strong experience with SAP HANA, data modeling, CDS Views, and AMDP.
• Proven experience designing and implementing Fiori / UI5 solutions.
• Hands-on experience with SAP integration technologies: PI/PO, CPI, web services / middleware.
• Experience building / migrating SAP S/4HANA landscapes.
• Expertise in SAP solution architecture — translating business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Cloud experience: working with AWS or Azure for SAP deployments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring developers / architects.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• SAP Certified Architect, ABAP, HANA, or Integration (PI / CPI).
• Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) / Cloud Foundry.
• Knowledge of SAP security (authorizations, role design, SSO).
• Experience with DevOps for SAP (transport management, automated testing).
• Exposure to newer SAP architectural models like RAP / CAP.

Pay: ₹850, ₹950,000.00 per year
