The Hindi Typist will be responsible for typing, formatting, and proofreading documents in Hindi with high accuracy and speed. The role also involves converting handwritten notes, transcripts, or dictations into digital Hindi text, maintaining records, and ensuring quality control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Type and format various documents in Hindi (letters, reports, forms, correspondence) from handwritten, verbal, or draft sources
  • Transcribe audio recordings, dictated notes into Hindi text
  • Proofread documents for spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting errors
  • Ensure documents follow given style guidelines or templates
  • Maintain and organize digital and physical files
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Meet agreed timelines and manage multiple tasks
  • Assist with general administrative support, as needed
  • Install and use Hindi typing tools / Unicode fonts / appropriate input method editors (IME)
  • Ensure quality control: cross-check typed documents with source copy
  • (Optional) Use shorthand/steno in Hindi, if required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum educational qualification: High School / 10th / 12th (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a typist, especially in Hindi typing
  • Strong typing speed in Hindi (mention benchmark, e.g. 40–60 wpm or more)
  • Good knowledge of Hindi grammar, spelling, and vocabulary
  • Familiarity with word processing software (MS Word, etc.)
  • Basic computer skills (file management, windows, etc.)
  • (Preferred) Experience in transcription or stenography in Hindi

  • Basic knowledge of software tools, IME, Unicode Hindi fonts

  • Good eyesight (or corrective lenses)
