Housekeeping Supervisor

Role & responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff.
• Assign tasks and inspect work to ensure standards of cleanliness are met.
• Train new employees on cleaning procedures, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; place orders as needed.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
• Address and resolve guest or staff complaints regarding housekeeping services.
• Prepare schedules and manage attendance records.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of rooms, common areas, and restrooms.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Report maintenance issues to the appropriate department.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; diploma in hospitality management is a plus.
• Proven experience in housekeeping or custodial services, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical stamina and mobility.
