Draughtsman / Draftsman

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Draughtsman to prepare technical drawings and plans based on specifications provided by engineers, architects, or designers. The ideal candidate should have strong technical drawing skills, proficiency in CAD software, and an excellent understanding of engineering or architectural principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and plans using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit).
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, or designers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical drawings.
  • Revise and update drawings based on feedback or changes in specifications.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Maintain organized records of all versions of drawings and documentation.
  • Perform measurements and site visits (if applicable) to collect data and verify dimensions.
  • Assist in preparing bills of materials (BOM), construction schedules, and related technical documents.
  • Identify potential design problems and suggest practical solutions.
  • Work with 3D models and rendering software if required by the project.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of technical drawing standards and conventions.
  • Knowledge of building codes, manufacturing processes, or engineering principles, depending on specialization.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical data and blueprints.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Draughtsman in a relevant industry (civil, mechanical, electrical, or architectural).
  • Experience with 3D modelling and visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with project documentation and regulatory compliance.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based work with occasional site visits.
  • Collaborative work with engineering/design/construction teams.
  • May work under tight deadlines or project-based timelines.
