Purpose of Role

The Science Lab Assistant supports the teaching staff in preparing and maintaining the laboratory for practical lessons. The role includes organizing equipment, assisting during experiments, ensuring safety protocols, and helping students understand basic lab practices.

The Dorm Parent is responsible for the welfare, discipline, and emotional well-being of students residing in the school dormitory. The role involves ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured living environment that promotes personal growth, academic focus, and a sense of community.

CSA Science lab assistant, dorm parent - Key Responsibilities

• Prepare lab materials, equipment, and chemical solutions in advance of lessons.
• Assist teachers and students during practical experiments.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and organize equipment systematically.
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and apparatus.
• Maintain inventory of lab supplies and request replenishments.
• Follow and enforce safety guidelines and emergency procedures.
• Assist in setting up exhibitions, science fairs, and practical exams.

Dorm parent - Key Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the dormitory and ensure a safe living environment.
• Monitor daily routines, including wake-up, hygiene, meals, study hours, and lights-out.
• Address student concerns and maintain discipline and order.
• Build positive relationships and provide emotional and moral support.
• Maintain records of student health, attendance, and incidents.
• Liaise with parents, school counselors, and teachers regarding student welfare.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance staff for dorm upkeep.
• Organize recreational activities and encourage participation in co-curricular events.
