Position Executive Procurement Expeditor
Qualification Graduate in any discipline OR Diploma in Engineering
Experience Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in Purchase function in manufacturing
engineering organization.
A Purchase Chaser is a role focused on expediting and ensuring timely delivery of goods and
services, often involving follow up with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any delays or issues
in the procurement process. The role may also include tasks related to inventory management and cost reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
Following up on Purchase Orders:
Ensuring timely delivery of goods and services by actively tracking purchase orders and following up with suppliers to address any delays.
Managing Supplier Relationships:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to facilitate efficient communication
and resolve any issues related to order fulfilment.
Identifying and Resolving Issues:
Proactively identifying potential delays or problems in the procurement process and working with
relevant parties to find solutions.
Maintaining Records:
Keeping detailed records of all purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier interactions.
Optimizing Inventory:
Monitoring inventory levels and collaborating with relevant teams to optimize stock management.
Supporting Cost Reduction Efforts:
Analysing spending patterns and identifying opportunities to reduce costs in the procurement
process.
Coordinating with Internal Teams:
Collaborating with other departments, such as production, sales, and finance, to ensure
procurement activities align with overall business needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with suppliers and
internal teams.
Problem-Solving Skills:
The ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively is crucial.
Organizational Skills:
Maintaining detailed records and managing multiple tasks simultaneously requires strong
organizational skills.
Negotiation Skills:
Negotiating with suppliers to resolve issues and optimize delivery times may be necessary.
Knowledge of Procurement Processes:
A basic understanding of procurement procedures and best practices is helpful.
Experience with ERP Systems:
Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP.
