We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Senior Accountant to join our finance team and manage the end-to-end accounting function. This role involves overseeing daily bookkeeping, managing statutory compliance, and collaborating with auditors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise with Zoho Books and Tally, along with a strong understanding of taxation, reconciliations, and payroll compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping including purchase bills, utility payments, and expense categorization.

Record and reconcile all customer and vendor accounts on a regular basis.

Oversee bank and cash transactions, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations.

Handle petty cash transactions and maintain supporting vouchers in accounting systems.

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of accounts and assist with finalization.

Prepare and maintain well-organized financial documentation for audits and management reporting.

Payroll & Employee Compliance

Ensure collection and verification of employee income tax declarations and investment proofs.

Handle payroll-related compliance including TDS calculations and employee queries.

Coordinate with consultants for Provident Fund (EPF) and ESIC compliance.

Issue Form 16 and provide other payroll-related documentation as required.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

Review and verify TDS calculations; ensure timely payment of TDS and GST.

Work closely with CA firms to file TDS returns, GST filings, and provide TDS certificates to vendors.

Support compliance with company secretarial requirements, including board resolutions and statutory filings when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

3+ years of hands-on accounting experience with strong knowledge of accounting principles.

Proficiency in Zoho Books, Tally, and MS Excel/Google Sheets.

Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, and tax accounting.

Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and organizational abilities.

Strong communication skills (written and spoken English).

Location: Mumbai (on-site role).
