Job Summary:

Refrigeration Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining refrigeration systems and cold room equipment used in the ice cream manufacturing process. The role ensures consistent temperature control, equipment efficiency, and adherence to food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor ammonia or Freon-based refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and chillers.
• Maintain optimal temperature and humidity levels in production, hardening, and cold storage areas.
• Perform routine checks on pressure, oil levels, leaks, and system parameters.
• Ensure proper startup, shutdown, and defrosting cycles of refrigeration equipment.
• Maintain records of temperature logs, pressure readings, and energy consumption.
• Assist in preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor breakdowns and assist during emergency repairs.
• Comply with safety protocols and ensure proper use of PPE while handling ammonia and related systems.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams to maintain the required cold chain standards.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in refrigeration operations, preferably in the ice cream, dairy, or frozen food industry.
• Knowledge of ammonia-based refrigeration systems is preferred.
• Strong understanding of temperature and pressure controls.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Willingness to work in shifts and cold environments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
