Role Overview

As SEO Manager, you'll own end-to-end organic growth at KollegeApply. From technical SEO foundations and scalable content frameworks to authority building and conversion optimization, you'll collaborate with Content, Product, and Engineering teams to 10x qualified organic traffic and student applications.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop quarterly SEO roadmaps aligned with academic cycles (UG/PG admissions, exams, scholarships).
  • Define and maintain keyword universe, topic clusters, and internal linking strategies.

Technical SEO

  • Lead technical audits (CWV, crawl depth, orphan pages, faceted navigation, log-file analysis).
  • Manage schema (College/Organization, Course, FAQ, HowTo, Breadcrumb), robots, sitemaps, and canonicals.
  • Partner with developers on Core Web Vitals, page speed budgets, lazy loading, and indexation strategies.

Content & Programmatic SEO

  • Design and QA scalable templates for colleges, courses, exams, scholarships, and comparisons.
  • Establish content guidelines for E-E-A-T, fact-checking, and responsible AI-assisted content creation.
  • Optimize CTR with meta/title testing and large-scale on-page experiments.

Authority & Digital PR

  • Build high-quality backlinks from .edu, .gov, media, and academic partnerships.
  • Manage outreach calendar while maintaining clean anchor text distribution and link velocity.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Deliver weekly dashboards tracking keyword rankings, SERP features, CTR, and CVR to application.
  • Translate insights into actionable backlog items, prioritizing by impact and effort.

Must-Haves

  • Demonstrated success growing non-brand traffic for large-scale, multi-thousand URL sites.
  • Expertise with GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs/Semrush.
  • Strong technical SEO background (CWV, rendering, canonicals, hreflang, structured data).
  • Skilled in content briefing, QA, and auditing for accuracy and search intent.
  • Proficiency in SQL/Google Sheets; ability to brief engineers with clear acceptance criteria.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in edtech, aggregators, or marketplaces.
  • Familiarity with programmatic SEO, templating, and internal linking automation.
  • Basic HTML/CSS/JS; exposure to SSR/ISR concepts.
  • Experience with Looker Studio dashboards; Python for quick data wrangling.

Success Metrics (KPIs)

  • Organic new users: {target}% MoM during peak cycles, {target}% QoQ overall.
  • Non-brand share: {target}% of organic sessions.
