Liquidity, Cash & investments (~1500 Cr group treasury, ~1000 Cr investment book) -

Monitoring bank balances on daily basis across Crisil group spread over 15+ legal entities and 11+ geographies

Investing surplus cash appropriately to earn 40-50 bps higher than liquid funds while still being within guardrails as outlined in the Board approved policy. Tactically churning portfolio by moving cash from funds to term deposits to get higher yields

Regular repatriation of surplus from overseas geographies by way of Dividends or intercompany receivables to earn 7%+ returns in India compared to ~3-4% abroad

Keeping abreast of latest market development in all geographies and regularly update senior management (CRO, CFO, Sr Dir Finance) in case of adverse market development which might impact Crisil's topline/bottom-line

Hedging and related activities (~$80 Mn Hedge book, ~$160 Mn FX exposure)

Reviewing Crisil's Net Exposure on quarterly basis and layering appropriate hedges to reduce earnings volatility for Crisil due to foreign exchange movement

Coordinate closely with FP&A team to align hedges in line with quarterly forecasts and take required approvals from SPGI team (Assistant Treasurer and Ratings CFO)

Selling surplus EEFC tactically for Crisil to crystallize MTM gains earned in a depreciation environment

Credit limits (~120 Cr including OD and BG)

Credit limits set-up with banks, annual renewal, monitoring usage, submission of due diligence reports etc. to smoothen daily funding requirement for Crisil group. Maximum payments to vendors withing defined TAT for higher vendor/employee satisfaction

Bank guarantees (~16 Cr)

Issuance / Cancellation / Renewal of BG's for various verticals like Advisory, Risk Solutions etc. so that client pre-conditions are met from performance obligations perspective to enable project initiations and milestone based payments

Insurance (Liability ~600 Cr and FA including FLOP ~1000 Cr)

Benchmarking and recommending annual insurance cover for Crisil group to protect organization against unforeseen events both from liability and assets perspective. Close coordination with SPGI Insurance team for optimal insurance coverage

Competition Tracking

Regularly keep track of performance of Crisils peers and share quarterly update to senior management highlighting new focus areas of Crisils competitors, reasons for under/overperformance of peers, etc

Maintaining relationship with various Sell Side Analysts and share updated quarterly reports on Crisil to Senior Management (CEOs office, CFO, Sr Director Finance, etc)

Work extensively with all the business heads of Crisil group for annual AGM questionnaire preparations which enable CEO to respond to questions within short time when live

Closely work with Secretarial and entire Finance department to respond on shareholder queries to their satisfaction

FEMA

Taking ownership of FEMA related issues which impact multiple teams/departments within CFO Function and taking them to logical conclusions (like UIN cancellations, LSF, ODI filings , etc)

Banking

Maintaining relationship with all the banks for Crisil Groups 50+ accounts. Opening new accounts for Business as Crisil ventures into new territories for expansion and growth and seamlessly integrating with existing platforms for ease of operations

MIS / Reporting

Monthly MIS on Treasury detailing all investments and balances to CEO, CRO, CFO, Sr Director Finance, etc. This enables good governance and transparency as well
