Front-end Developer

As a Front-End Developer you will be a member of a cross-functional web development team. We are the in process of rewriting our core UI toolchain and therefore you will also get to participate in co-creating our new design-language/ design-system. Also you will be responsible for building the enterprise level applications using client-side technologies to create rich, dynamic, and visually appealing experiences. You should be a strong communicator who excels at collaborating with team members and conveying technical concepts to other developers, managers, and clients. You should have strong technical skills utilizing the latest concepts in client-side practices including responsive and mobile-first techniques, tools such as CSS preprocessors, Javascript Frameworks, libraries and also task runners like webpack, grunt or gulp.

Why is this role important for Tavisca's work?

Tavisca product teams are divided into Tribes and Squads, with similarities to the Spotify model. You will work within a tribe comprising of cross-functional squads, engaging with onsite and offshore Product Managers, Delivery managers, Analysts and Engineers to help build the web apps using client-side and server-side technologies and frameworks.

As a Front-end developer you will be able to understand and create clear strategies to communicate how technical implementation will benefit product and clients by identifying and prioritizing opportunities to improve the speed and reliability of the product and delivery life-cycles.

Some of the things that you can look forward to doing once you are here are:

• Be part of Agile rituals like Feature elaboration/Estimation, daily stand-ups, release planning, Iteration Planning Meeting, Retrospective, Showcase, etc
• Build content and data driven enterprise level web application which works for Multiple clients in multiple countries.
• Create dynamic user interfaces/Components with JS frameworks like React, Angular, LitElement or Backbone.
• Write/Update UI / logical test cases as per the business and product requirements.
• Integrate with third-party systems and providers by consuming web services and collaborate with back-end developers to design APIs and service interfaces.
• Write clean, well-organized code following industry standard coding.
• Use development tools like WebPack, Version Controls(Git, Bit, TFS) etc…
• Implement and work with Web Accessibility and Globalization/Internationalization.
• Create documentation around processes including front-end design and service architecture.
• Apply quality measures around performance, security, and scalability.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to members of cross-functional team, clients, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to understand requirements, communicate designs, and implement specifications.
• Identify roadblocks, raise these risks, and provide leadership towards resolutions.
• Learn, master new technologies and publish blogs or POCs on a yearly basis in minimum.

Relevant experience?

Minimum qualifications or requirements for the candidate.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent area.

• Experience working with Scrum Agile

• Must have working experience in developing web applications using Angular

• Must have working experience in developing web applications using state management framework like Redux, Flux. 
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills paired with the ability to develop creative and efficient solutions, provide necessary thought leadership to the team members.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Expert knowledge of front-end development technologies, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Bootstrap & SASS, Google Analytics.
• Experience in building responsive applications with frameworks like Bootstrap or Foundation
• Code Quality Tools, like LINT, SonarQube etc.
• TDD Implementation using Jasmine, Karma, Jest etc.
• Build Tools, like Grunt, Gulp, Webpack (minimum one)
• Conceptual knowledge of server side JS like NodeJS and database system, like Mongo.
• Web Services integration, using AJAX, knowledge of concepts like REST.

Nice to haves

• Knowledge of Web Accessibility
• Experience in developing Webcomponents and Custom Elements.
• Experience working in multi-lingual site using Internationalization/Globalization
• Experience in integrating front-end layer with backend middleware and platforms, such as
  
  ASP.NET, .NET Core, Java.
• Experience working in a CMS like infrastructure.
• Knowledge of CI-CD Process.
