.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of injection moulds (2-plate, 3-plate, hot runner, cold runner).
  • Create detailed 2D/3D designs and drawings using CAD tools (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA, SolidWorks).
  • Conduct DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews with cross-functional teams.
  • Perform and interpret mould flow analysis (using tools like Moldex3D or Autodesk Moldflow).
  • Select appropriate tool steels, surface treatments, and components based on product and material requirements.
  • Collaborate with tooling vendors for fabrication, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Support tool trials (T0, T1, etc.), conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Optimize tool cooling systems, cycle time, and part quality through iterative design improvements.
  • Ensure tools meet dimensional accuracy, durability, and life-cycle requirements.
  • Maintain documentation of tool history, revisions, validations, and maintenance plans.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer within the tooling team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in injection mould tool design.
  • Expert knowledge in plastic part design principles and moulding processes.
  • Proficient in CAD software (NX, CATIA, Creo, or equivalent).
  • Experience with mould flow simulation tools (e.g., Moldflow, Moldex3D).
  • Experience working with multi-cavity, high-volume production moulds.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
