Role Overview:

The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining accurate records, and supporting patient safety. The role also involves managing inventory, monitoring drug usage, and collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality pharmacy services.

Department: Pharmacy Operations

Reporting To: Operations Manager / Pharmacy In-charge

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescription and non-prescription medicines accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify prescriptions for authenticity, dosage, and potential drug interactions.
  • Guide patients/customers on correct medication usage, side effects, and storage.
  • Ensure compliance with the Drug & Cosmetic Act and other statutory regulations.
  • Maintain records of controlled substances as per legal requirements.
  • Monitor inventory to avoid shortages, overstocking, or expiry of medicines.
  • Implement quality checks on medicines and consumables.
  • Support procurement, vendor coordination, and cost-effective purchasing.
  • Educate patients and staff on medication safety, alternative generics, and rational use of drugs.
  • Ensure pharmacy hygiene, safety, and audit readiness.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
  • Valid State Pharmacy Council License / Registration.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing.
  • Good communication and counseling skills.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software/ERP systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
