Role Summary:

To manage all costs relating to building and civil engineering projectsfrom initial estimates to final accountsensuring value for money while achieving the required standards and quality of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Pre-Construction Stage

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and BOQs (Bills of Quantities) from drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in cost estimation, budgeting, and rate analysis during tendering.
  • Evaluate RFQs from vendors/subcontractors and prepare comparative statements.
  • Work closely with the design and planning teams to forecast cost impacts of design changes.
  • Prepare and maintain the project cost plan and cash flow projections.
  • Support the preparation of tender documents, technical specifications, and bid evaluations.

  • Execution Stage

  • Verify contractors running bills, site measurements, and joint measurement records.

  • Prepare and update quantities for work progress and material reconciliation.
  • Evaluate and certify variation orders (VOs) and extra item claims.
  • Maintain records of labor, material, and equipment usage for cost monitoring.
  • Conduct rate analysis for non-schedule items (NS items).
  • Coordinate with site engineers for physical progress vs. financial progress.
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contracts.

  • Post-Construction Stage

  • Prepare final measurement sheets and as-built BOQ reconciliation.

  • Assist in preparing final accounts and project cost reports.
  • Support project close-out and client billing documentation.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain updated cost data, rate analysis library, and productivity records.

  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly cost reports, including budget vs. actual analysis.

  • Highlight cost overruns or savings and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms, FIDIC/CPWD/MES standards (as applicable).

Skills & Competencies:

**Technical Skills: ** Quantity take-off, rate analysis, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, billing, and contract management.

**Soft Skills: ** Attention to detail, analytical thinking, communication, negotiation, time management, and reporting.

Software Knowledge:

AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project / Primavera, and ERP systems (SAP / BuildSmart / Tally).
