Assistant Manager / Manager – Welding Engineering

Location: Hazira, Surat

Experience:

  • 3.5 – 7 Years (for M.E. – Welding Engineering & Metallurgy)
  • 9 – 12 Years (for B.Tech Mechanical/Electrical)

CTC Range: ₹8.5 LPA – ₹18 LPA (open for the right candidate)

Working Days: 2nd & 4th Saturdays off

Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:45 PM

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Assistant Manager / Manager – Welding Engineering with strong expertise in welding procedures, metallurgy, and shop floor execution. The role involves managing welding operations for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and related heavy engineering components, ensuring compliance with international codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review welding procedures and related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, IBR, API, and other relevant standards.
  • Apply knowledge of pressure vessel and heat exchanger fabrication.
  • Utilize expertise in welding metallurgy and heat treatment processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend corrective actions for welding failures.
  • Develop and implement new welding procedures, techniques, and technologies.
  • Perform shop surveillance to ensure adherence to welding standards and practices.
  • Collaborate with teams to resolve welding challenges and improve productivity.
  • Apply working knowledge of automatic tube-to-tube sheet welding.
  • Maintain strong verbal and written communication with internal teams and stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

  • M.E. in Welding Engineering & Metallurgy with 3.5 – 7 years of experience, OR
  • B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering with 9 – 12 years of experience.
  • Hands-on shop floor welding experience (not QC/QA focused).
  • Strong technical knowledge of welding codes, procedures, and metallurgy.
  • Practical experience in heavy engineering fabrication (pressure vessels, heat exchangers).
  • Problem-solving mindset with ability to lead RCA & corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
