Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Monitoring & Management: Continuously monitor critical client infrastructure and ensure high availability and performance.
  • Incident Handling: Respond to real-time incidents promptly, document actions, and ensure proper follow-up.
  • Performance Optimization: Diagnose and resolve system and application performance issues, including:
  • Network, CPU, memory, and I/O load optimization
  • Database performance tuning (MySQL, MariaDB)
  • Email delivery and reputation management
  • Security Management: Identify, respond to, and mitigate security incidents, including malware, phishing attempts, blacklisting, and abuse reports.
  • Backup Oversight: Monitor and verify backups to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Server Lifecycle Management: Participate in activation, cancellation, and migration processes for Dedicated and Cloud servers, including custom VIP systems.
  • Team Support & Mentorship: Provide coaching, guidance, and support to Level 2 support teams; handle Level 3 escalations.
  • Migration & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex migration scenarios, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
  • Systems Standardization: Contribute to system standardization efforts, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaboration & Escalation: Escalate complex issues and coordinate resolution efforts with the DevOps team and other relevant stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 4+ years as a LAMP System Administrator (Apache or Nginx), including experience managing email reputation issues.
  • Hands-on experience with cPanel/WHM (Plesk knowledge is an asset).
  • Proficiency with Bash or other command-line scripting languages.
  • Strong communication skills in English or French, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • In-depth understanding of email protocols (POP, IMAP, SMTP) and email delivery management.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, such as OpenVZ, KVM, Xen, VMware, or OpenStack.
  • Solid knowledge of web concepts, including DNS, IPv4/IPv6, and networking fundamentals.
  • Proven experience in database management and optimization (MySQL, MariaDB).
  • Familiarity with website scripting languages such as PHP, Perl, or Python.
  • Windows Server management experience is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications, such as cPanel, RedHat, or LPIC, are advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure in critical situations.
