Software Engineer, Android Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our product and design teams to build new and innovative application experiences for Android
  • Implement custom native user interfaces using the latest Android programming techniques
  • Build reusable Android software components for interfacing with our back-end platforms
  • Analyze and optimize UI and infrastructure application code for quality, efficiency, and performance

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of programming experience in a relevant language
  • 1+ years experience building complex applications targeting Android in production using its native languages and frameworks
  • Experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit testing techniques
  • Experience with multithreading programming and mobile memory management
  • Experience in performance debugging and benchmarking
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Shipped at least one large-scale product to production, supporting millions of active users
  • Experience working with wireless technologies such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, UWB, or NFC
  • Familiarity with Android connectivity APIs and networking concepts
