Key responsibilities

  • Guest interaction: Greet customers, show them to their tables, and make them feel welcome.
  • Order taking: Present menus, answer questions about dishes, and take food and beverage orders accurately, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions.
  • Menu knowledge: Provide detailed information on menu items and specials, and make recommendations to upsell items when appropriate.
  • Service delivery: Serve food and beverages promptly and correctly to the tables.
  • Payment processing: Present checks, process payments, and handle cash and card transactions.
  • Table maintenance: Set tables with cutlery and glasses, and clear tables of used dishes and debris.
  • Problem-solving: Handle customer complaints and concerns, and work to resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
  • Team coordination: Communicate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure orders are prepared correctly and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Cleanliness and safety: Maintain a clean and organized dining area, and follow all sanitation and health guidelines for food handling.
