Assistant Manager - CAS CohnReznick currently has an exciting career opportunity with the Client Advisory Services team. We are looking for a manager to join our team.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead our Hospitality Accounting team, with a strong focus on restaurant clients. This role involves overseeing client delivery, managing teams, and ensuring high-quality execution of accounting services including AP, AR, POS reconciliations, credit card and third-party platform reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, restaurant accounting workflows, and team leadership.

A Client Advisory Associate assumes responsibility for developing their accounting, technical and soft skills; developing the ability to work on multiple projects; understanding the fundamentals of executing diligent client service; learning the work tools used in executing client work; and getting oriented to the Firm's practices, policies, and culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee Hospitality accounting team
  • Responsible for client execution and delivery, including timely, accurate and quality delivery of client work by team.
  • Demonstrates ability to independently perform complex accounting services for client .
  • Accounts Payable (AP): Vendor management, invoice processing, and payment scheduling.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR): Daily sales reconciliation, invoicing, and collections.
  • POS Reconciliations: Integrate and reconcile data from systems like Toast, Square, Aloha, Revel.
  • Credit Card & Third-Party Reconciliations: Match transactions from platforms like Grubhub, Uber Eats, DoorDash with bank deposits.
  • Lead global team with client work and developing skills, including but not limited to:
  • Providing guidance and training on accounting principles and calculations.
  • Handling escalations from clients and/or internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding voice of the client and providing solutions and improvements to client work.

  • Completing performance reviews, constructively and timely, both written and oral; as well as provides ongoing feedback throughout the performance year
  • Complete duties associated with managing clients, including but not limited to:
  • Exceeding clients' expectations
  • Completing client billings timely
  • Developing and maintaining client relationship, including proactive communications
  • Managing accounts receivable
  • Develops expertise in use of all technology necessary for performance execution
  • Ensures quality control procedures are being executed
  • Identify areas for process improvement for client work and/or practice operations
  • Become a subject matter expert for the Industry vertical(s) you are supporting
  • Seeks opportunities to participate in mentoring, recruiting, retention and team-building activities
  • Conducts oneself professionally and always shows respect to others; maintains poise under pressure, especially during stressful times and during peak periods of client engagement activity
  • Follows regulations and professional ethics of the AICPA and the state society
  • Maintains appropriate compliance with all firm wide and local office policies and procedures
  • Proactively develop relationships and proactive communications with clients, staff, and internal stakeholders.
  • Responds timely and accurately to internal team and client requests
  • Solicit internal experts from across the Firm to assist in marketing & selling Firm services to existing clients

Required Skills And Expertise

  • MBA and/or CPA license a plus
  • Proven ability to drive and lead corporate accounting processes and procedures such as cash management, AR/AP, month end close, payroll and benefits
  • Strong GAAP experience along with hands on experience performing controllership functions related to consolidations, GL close and financial reporting
  • Strong Hospitality experience.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, being highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project)
  • Experience with POS systems and accounting platforms (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, M3).
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Action-oriented (self-starter, team player, detail-oriented)
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and effectively meet critical deadlines
