Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Surgeon (MS General Surgery) who can perform surgical procedures, manage pre- and post-operative care, lead surgical teams, and ensure optimal treatment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a broad range of general surgery procedures (elective and emergency) in the operating theatre. EMERGENCY+2DoctHub | Jobs+2
  • Conduct pre-operative evaluations, diagnostic assessments and develop surgical plans. DoctHub | Jobs+1
  • Provide post-operative care: monitor patients, handle complications, plan follow-up and rehabilitation. DoctHub | Jobs
  • Work collaboratively with anaesthetists, nursing staff, ICU teams and allied departments to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and surgical case logs.
  • Participate in on-call/ emergency duty roster for urgent surgical cases.
  • Promote surgical best practices, maintain hygiene/sterility in OT, update surgical protocols. DoctHub | Jobs
  • Mentor junior surgeons, surgical residents or interns (if applicable) and contribute to departmental academic activities.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, patient safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: MS in General Surgery (or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
  • License: Registered with the Medical Council/State Medical Council.
  • Experience: Preferably 2-5 years (or more) of experience in general surgery with exposure to both elective and emergency cases.
  • Strong technical skills: ability to handle open and laparoscopic surgery, strong decision-making under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to patient care, safety, ethical practice and continuous professional development.
