Role Description

• The Senior Engineer Avaloq covers the whole analysis phase of a project(s) and is able to design optimal target state business processes, including aspects outside own area of responsibility to ensure target processes are designed and aligned front to back.
• The Business Analyst is also responsible for guiding the team in the review and analysis of requirements & functional specifications, and testing / support to ensure quality of deliverables.

Your key responsibilities

• Analyze requirements specification, plan & design solutions, support project estimates and provide planning input regarding solution engineering and development.
• Collect business and techno-functional requirements in collaboration with the business area as well as with interfacing applications and document these
• Review and validate business requirements on Core banking platform as well as any impact to upstream or downstream systems within short timelines
• Supports the design and conceptualisation of new business solution options and articulates identified impacts and risks.
• Identify potential impacts of new change on existing process through analysis and highlight any associated risks/issues.
• Liaising with multiple vendors involving multiple interfacing systems of the Core Banking System
• Participate in the creation of supporting documentation e.g. Terms of Reference
• Defines testing requirements including test plans, test cases, test-data and review of interface testing between different applications. Execute test cases and resolve functional issues arising from user acceptance testing.
• Support and co-ordinate UAT, defining (and executing) testing requirements together with the QA & Testing Team as well as the business area
• Ensure adherence to application and technology related architectural standards and development policies
• Perform data analysis to support tasks as required
• Providing hands-on, functional post go-live support to users
• Identify risks/issues and escalate to Program Management accordingly.

Your skills and experience

• Fluent in English (written/verbal).
• 6-12 years of experience in Business Analysis & Development / Avaloq domain
• Experience working with business requirements through to system level functional specifications (Must have)
• Experience with tooling across the SDLC: Sonar, Crucible, JI RA, H P ALM, Confluence, Artifactory, Teamcity, Git/BitBucket etc.)
• Experience in financial domain - Wealth Management (Must have) with experience working on cross asset projects
• Domain Expertise in core business processes and products in the Wealth Management portfolio
• Good knowledge in at least 4 to 5 of the business domains - Portfolio Management, Equity, Fixed Income, Funds, FX, MM, Alternative Investments, Derivatives and Structured Products.
• Experience in Wealth Core banking systems - Avaloq (Preferred) / T24 / Others.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills with clients and colleagues
• Advanced analytical and problem solving experience and ability to identify issues independently, grasp new concepts, provide insights and solutions and oversee their delivery.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong planning and highly organised with ability to prioritize key deliverables across several work streams.
• Excellent communication and documentation / presentation skills.
• Self-motivated and flexibility to work autonomously coupled with ability to work in virtual teams and matrix/global organisations including appreciation of different cultures during collaborating and sharing.
• Advanced knowledge of methods and tooling for the Business Functional Analysis Profession.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office products.
• Broad knowledge of related business solutions in the marketplace.

Education/Certification

• Degree from an accredited college or university
• Avaloq Certified Professional (Desirable)
• Test Automation Skill set is added advantage (UFT, TOSCA, Test Master)
