Analyst - Management Consulting

The Consultant will provide objective advice, expertise, guidance, and specialist skills to help clients achieve agreed project objectives. The role involves working across multiple client functionssuch as operations, logistics, sales, and servicesprimarily within the manufacturing industry.

The Consultant will report to the Engagement Manager, who leads the improvement initiative from the LFC Consulting Practice. The Consultant will work closely with both the client team and the LFC team to:

• Map current processes and control systems
• Identify gaps and areas for improvement
• Develop new processes or modify existing processes and control systems
• Drive the client to implement agreed solutions

Typical Deliverables and Responsibilities

Consulting assignments are project-based and entrepreneurial in nature. Project durations vary depending on the scope of change and client requirements. The Consultant will typically work in a small team comprising 23 members (Engagement Manager and Associates/Analysts).

Key deliverables include:

• Achieving project deliverables in assigned areas in collaboration with the Engagement Manager
• Identifying potential risks or issues that may impact project outcomes and resolving them jointly with the Engagement Manager
• Quantifying the business impact of identified issues
• Developing detailed implementation plans for each workstream
• Managing client team members assigned to the project
• Enhancing the skills of the client team (e.g., problem identification and problem-solving capabilities)

Key Tasks

The Consultant's responsibilities typically include:

• Conducting shop-floor studies and data analysis
• Interviewing client employees, management, and other stakeholders
• Facilitating brainstorming sessions and workshops
• Preparing project presentations and reports
• Conducting training and capability-building sessions
• Identifying issues from studies and available data, and guiding the client team to prioritize the right issues
• Formulating, implementing, and tracking recommendations and solutions
• Supporting the client in implementing approved recommendations
• Managing projects during short absences of the project leader
• Leading and managing project team members, including client full-time resources
• Identifying, resolving, or escalating behavioral or performance-related issues within the client team

Base Location, Project Duration, and Travel

• Typical project duration ranges from 20 to 40 weeks
• Consultants must be willing to work at client locations across different geographies
• The role requires working primarily from the client's offices
• Consultants may choose a base location of their preference, provided there is good air connectivity for short-notice travel
• Travel to the client location is required for the full duration of the project
• Consultants may travel back to their base location every fortnight
• Married consultants working on favorably located projects with short travel times may be permitted to return home every weekend
• Exceptions to these guidelines may apply during the first 6–12 months of employment, depending on project requirements

Work Experience and Skills

• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience is mandatory for the Associate position
• Prior experience in business process improvement initiatives is required
• Candidates with experience as internal consultants or with consulting firms are preferred
• Only candidates with manufacturing operations experience should apply
• Strong analytical and comprehension skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to all levels of the organization
• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
• High levels of self-motivation and a drive for continuous personal development, including mentoring junior team members
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to build effective relationships with both client and internal stakeholders
• Willingness to work on shop-floor initiatives and to travel, including to remote locations

Professional and Educational Background

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a reputed institute
• Postgraduate qualification in Management from a reputed institute is preferred
• Consistently strong academic record
• For candidates with significant experience in improvement initiatives or consulting, a management degree is not mandatory

• Compensation is competitive and aligned with industry standards for implementation consulting
• All project-related expenses, including travel, accommodation, internet, and phone expenses, will be borne by the company
