The FinOps Engineer is pivotal to advancing the adoption of public cloud services at Cencora. The successful candidate will serve as a technical expert, driving FinOps initiatives aimed at enhancing cloud efficiency. This role will involve collaboration with various stakeholders to optimize public cloud consumption and promote the growth of public cloud services within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, build, test, and implement solutions that support FinOps initiatives focused on cloud efficiency.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency through automation and AI, aligned with business needs and objectives.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of public cloud optimization, regulations, policies, and procedures, contributing to the development of optimization policies and guidelines.

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate the functionality and performance of automated systems.

• Design, develop, and integrate automated solutions with existing systems and platforms to ensure seamless operations.

• Monitor and conduct regular maintenance on automated solutions to ensure optimal functionality.

• Design and implement Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, supporting data transformation and ensuring data quality through ETL processes.

• Stay informed about the latest automation technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative tools and practices, particularly in the realm of AI solutions.

• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills when addressing issues with colleagues and presenting team work.

• Create, define, and maintain detailed documentation of operating procedures, automation processes, scripts, and configurations.

• Ensure that design and execution align with best practices regarding infrastructure and security.

• Write and maintain scripts and code necessary for automation using programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet critical deadlines, conducting thorough analyses and employing creative thinking to achieve objectives.

• Participate in special projects as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in an operational role with a cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP) in a technical capacity.

• Proven expertise in cloud optimization is essential.

• Business Intelligence or Data Analytics skills are preferred.

• Familiarity with FinOps concepts or possession of FinOps Certifications is preferred.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to coordinate activities and achieve goals.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking capabilities.

• A strong desire for continuous learning and professional growth.

• A proactive approach to contributing to organizational automation process improvements and best practices.

• Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, with experience fulfilling multiple roles within a team environment.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related discipline or equivalent related experience.

Preferred Certifications:

• Microsoft IT Certifications e.g. Certified Engineer, Microsoft Certified IT Professional
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Application/Infrastructure/Enterprise Architect Training and Certification, e.g. TOGAF
• Cloud Infrastructure Certification e.g. Azure Solution Architect Expert Certification
• Networking, Network convergence & Network Security & Compliance (CCNA)
• Enterprise IT Certification e.g. CGEIT

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• 4 + years of directly-related or relevant experience, preferably in IT Infrastructure design.
