Position: GIS Analyst

Area of Expertise: GIS Mapping, Remote Sensing, MIS, Spatial Data Analysis, Project Monitoring, Cartography, and related domains.

Educational Qualification & Skills

  • Master's Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, GIS/RS, or equivalent. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual abilities in System Architecture and Strategy. Proficiency in English and Hindi (writing & speaking). Experience in developing strategic system architecture plans. Proficiency in data processing fundamentals and utilization of VMIS, GIS, Remote Sensing, and UAV technologies. Strong computer knowledge, including GIS software such as ESRI ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, eCognition, ENVI, and QGIS.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in MIS and RS/GIS. Experience with web-GIS operations and various GIS platforms. Proven record in data acquisition & processing for forest monitoring. Field data collection experience (ground truthing) using GPS and/or mobile applications. Ability to identify and verify use cases for business models. Experience in planning, managing, and monitoring forestry-related activities with advanced technologies. Collaboration experience with public and private sector stakeholders.

Roles & Key Responsibilities

  • Assist client in preparing KMZ files & recording GPS locations of proposed sites.
  • Upload accurate site-specific data.
  • Create high-quality maps and cartographic products for project planning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Analyze and interpret spatial data, including satellite imagery, topographic maps, and other geospatial datasets.
  • Develop and maintain spatial databases for client.
  • Produce thematic maps and communicate spatial information to stakeholders..
