Job Description: Accountant – Construction Industry

Experience: 4–5 Years

We are looking for an experienced Accountant with strong knowledge of construction accounting, vendor billing, site-related expenses, and project-wise financial tracking. The candidate should be capable of managing end-to-end accounting operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Financial Management

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations following accounting standards.
  • Prepare and maintain books of accounts: ledgers, cash book, journal entries, and general accounts.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Maintain project-wise expense reports and cost tracking.

2. Billing & Vendor Management

  • Verify vendor bills, work orders, material receipts, and site-related bills.
  • Prepare RA (Running Account) bills and contractor payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure proper documentation for all material purchases and subcontractor billing.

3. Taxation & Compliance

  • Knowledge of GST, TDS, and other statutory compliances.
  • Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and TDS returns.
  • Ensure timely tax payments and maintain compliance records.
  • Coordinate with auditors for internal and statutory audits.

4. Bank & Cash Management

  • Handle bank reconciliations, cash books, and daily cash flow records.
  • Monitor site cash expenses and ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Manage petty cash and maintain accurate logs.

5. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare MIS reports, monthly financial statements, and project cost analysis.
  • Support management in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Provide financial data for decision-making as required.

6. Coordination & Documentation

  • Coordinate with site engineers, purchase, and management teams for financial clarity.
  • Maintain proper filing of invoices, agreements, receipts, and tax records.
  • Assist in preparing project-wise financial dashboards.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting and project costing.
  • Proficiency in Tally ERP / Tally Prime is mandatory.
  • Good understanding of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle pressure and work with multiple project sites.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
