Financial Control & Reporting includes roles that are responsible for ensuring the overall accuracy and integrity of financial information through effective financial control procedures. Consolidates information and prepares timely and accurate financial reporting, and handles financial modelling. Analyzes internal financial information (e.g., profit loss accounts, financial statements, working capital, costs, prices, expenses, revenues, rates of return, etc.), as well as external economic conditions and their impact on business operations.
Professional stream includes those who are individual contributors with main emphasis on applying technical/discipline knowledge rather than managing people to achieve results – although coaching/mentoring less experienced staff, informal supervisory responsibilities, or overseeing work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and program are common.

Individual work ranges from setting objectives and delivering on own work responsibilities to being a leading expert within a given field and influencing long term tactical decisions of the organization.

Progression within this stream reflects increasing depth of professional knowledge, project management capability, and the ability to influence others. A colleague at this level has in-depth knowledge and experience in a functional area. The colleague routinely applies subject matter knowledge to solve common business issues operating within practices and procedures covered by precedents or well-defined policies. A colleague at this level handles most situations independently, receives minimal guidance, but will seek advice, guidance and support on more complex or non-routine topcis.

The colleague understands the overall nature of the business and the interdependencies between own and other functions.

Leaders at this level are accountable for performance and results in teams of less experienced professionals, frontline workers and admins, and will adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.Business Partnering for Business Areas Energy, BAF, EU ETS and others
  • Finance Business Partner for Bunker and Emission Surcharges who plays an active role in all performance management discussions as per the Maersk Operating System
  • You have proven trusted partnering skills – key parameters are meeting deadlines and accurately display and convey information plus own, define and drive standards for KPIs on performance management
  • Partnering with the Business on New initiatives by providing them with required data, challenging them and helping them understand the financial impact of the decisions on the business.
 Reporting and Performance Management
  • Monthly performance with TbM leadership, BPOs and Regions, identify focus areas and be able to explain performance and actions
  • Inputs for QPR, QBR, Business plans, other performance summaries
  • Drive annual budgets, quarterly Rofo, involves dependencies on other functions, regions
 Ad-hoc analysis
  • You perform business analysis that can be ad-hoc, unstructured and involve several iterations and challenged by unavailability of structured data
  • You present analysis in a clear and concise manner which can be tweaked to the level / seniority of the stakeholders
  • You may be required to work on closure of GIA Audit Observations that involves working with cross functional teams
 Problem solving
  • You are curious to solve complex business problems through accurate identification of underlying factors/causes and is aware of the impact of proposed solutions outside their own immediate area
  • You play a key role in data quality enhancement and visibility and has the ability to roll-up sleeves and deliver on challenging assignments
 Subject matter expertise
  • You are expected to have (inculcate) a good understanding of the Ocean Business, systems and processes, interdependencies with other functions
  • You are the Subject Matter Expert for the (other) products in scope of the portfolio
  • You provide support / guidance to the other VAS and D&D team members
 Cross functional
  • You collaborate across other Ocean Product Finance teams and build relationships which supports the vision of One Finance team and play a key role towards forecast process improvement.
  • Be the focal for BI requirements / ideation of the VAS & D&D team and drive the outcomes with Ocean BI team.

The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, systems, data and process skills. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with ability to condense detailed subject matters into clear and effective communications.Are an excellent team player with the ability to work both independently, as well as part of a cross-functional team where innovative solutions are required
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, intermediate skills in PowerPoint, Power BI
  • Possess attention to detail, works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
  • Has established network in internal peer group and participates in external peer network
  • Contributes to wider decision making including the development of practices, processes and procedures
  • May lead projects or contributes/influence projects of moderate size and scope through substantial contributions to project framing, often with moderately complex interfaces to other disciplines and the ability to influence and drive change across multiple functional units.
Experience / Qualifications:
  • Masters in finance (CA/ MBA-finance)
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in FPNA.
  • Experience of financial modelling and forecasting
  • Good communication and stakeholder influencing skills
  • Working proficiency on tools such as Microsoft Excel, MiniTab, SAP-BI/BW, Power BI.
