o Receive, label and analyze samples (blood, toxic, tissue etc.)
o Design and execute laboratory testing according standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings
o Conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods
o Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions
o Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
o Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
o Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment
o conducting and supporting scientific investigations and experiments
o planning, setting up and undertaking controlled experiments and trials
o recording and analyzing data
o demonstrating procedures
o collecting, preparing and/or testing samples
o maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and testing sterility of the equipment
o providing technical support
o presenting results to senior staff
o writing reports, reviews and summaries
o keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments
o carrying out risk assessments
o ordering and maintaining stock and resources
