Gynaecologist

A gynecologist's job description includes diagnosing and treating conditions of the female reproductive system, performing routine exams like Pap smears and pelvic exams, and providing advice on reproductive health and family planning. They also provide prenatal and postnatal care and perform surgeries, while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Core responsibilities

• Conducting routine exams: Perform annual checkups, pelvic exams, and Pap smears to screen for and detect gynecological conditions.
• Diagnosing and treating conditions: Identify and manage a wide range of conditions, including menstrual disorders, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and ovarian cysts.
• Providing reproductive health advice: Advise patients on contraception, family planning, and other reproductive health issues.
• Performing diagnostic tests: Administer and interpret various tests, such as ultrasounds, biopsies, and hormone profile blood tests.
• Performing surgeries: Conduct surgical procedures ranging from minor to major, depending on the patient's needs.
• Providing prenatal and postnatal care: Manage the health of both the mother and fetus throughout pregnancy, assist with childbirth, and provide postpartum care.
• Collaborating with other professionals: Work with a team of healthcare providers, including midwives, anesthesiologists, and oncologists, to coordinate patient care.
• Educating patients: Explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventative measures to patients to empower them in their healthcare decisions.
• Maintaining records: Keep detailed and accurate medical histories and treatment plans for each patient.

Additional duties

• Referring patients to other specialists when necessary.
• Staying current with the latest advancements and research in gynecology.
• Potentially mentoring junior staff and teaching medical students.
• Carrying out research.

Pay: ₹64, ₹181,516.08 per month
