Production Planning and Control Engineer

Role & responsibilities:

  • Create daily and weekly production schedules, considering factors such as machine capacity, labour availability, and order deadlines. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety in machining operations.
  • Communicate schedules and production targets to the production team and ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Assist in developing production plans and schedules to ensure optimal use of resources (including manpower, equipment, and materials) .
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to prioritize production orders based on customer demand and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to prevent shortages and overages.
  • Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to maintain adequate inventory levels for production needs.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Experience in production planning and control within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems for production scheduling and inventory management. Epicor is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving production-related issues.
  • Knowledge of 6 sigma, Lean, Kaizen is an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge in MS office.
