In this role, you will design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support analytics and business operations in a fast-paced healthcare technology environment. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and optimized for reporting and operational use. This position provides the opportunity to work with modern cloud technologies, ETL frameworks, and streaming platforms, while contributing to the continuous improvement of data architecture and operational excellence. You will take ownership of data quality, performance, and observability, helping enable impactful decisions across multiple teams.
Accountabilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines from multiple sources, ensuring high data quality and reliability.
- Optimize data models, queries, and warehouse schemas for performance and analytical needs.
- Build and manage ETL/ELT workflows using Spark, PySpark, Airflow, or similar tools.
- Implement streaming data solutions using Kafka or other message-processing systems.
- Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to integrate data into reporting tools like Tableau or Qlik.
- Monitor and improve data pipeline performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper documentation, adherence to data governance, and best practices.
- Work with cloud services (AWS: S3, Athena, EMR, Kinesis) to deploy and manage data solutions effectively.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, operations, or related roles.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases; exposure to non-relational databases is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Spark/ PySpark and data warehouse design (star schemas, etc.).
- Experience with building and maintaining data pipelines from multiple sources.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and relevant services (S3, EMR, Kinesis, Athena).
- Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow, Luigi) and streaming technologies (Kafka).
- Experience with Databricks, dbt, or other modern data platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, ownership, and communication skills, with a focus on quality and documentation.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid or remote environment.
