The R2R Fixed Assets Accountant is responsible for managing the end-to-end accounting and reporting of fixed assets within the Record-to-Report process. This includes asset creation, capitalization, depreciation, retirements, transfers, and ensuring compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.

Role & responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) across all legal entities.
  • Perform capitalization of assets, retirements, and transfers in accordance with accounting and company policies.
  • Review and post depreciation runs, ensuring accuracy and timely completion during month-end close.
  • Manage CIP (Capital Work-in-Progress) accounts and ensure timely capitalization of completed projects.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts related to fixed assets and depreciation monthly.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to fixed assets (depreciation, disposals, impairments, reclassifications).
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities within the R2R framework.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS / US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Project, Procurement, and Operations teams for accurate asset tracking.
  • Assist in internal and external audits, providing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities in asset accounting and reporting.
  • Maintain strong internal controls over fixed asset accounting processes.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Record-to-Report (R2R), General Ledger, or Fixed Assets Accounting, preferably in a shared service or multinational environment.
  • Strong understanding of fixed asset lifecycle accounting, depreciation methods, and CIP management.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP asset accounting principles.
  • Hands-on experience in ERP systems such as SAP (AA module), Oracle FA, or similar tools.
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
