About the Role

We are seeking a visionary
Head of Quality Assurance (QA)

to establish, lead, and elevate our Quality Management System (QMS) across our Mumbai manufacturing operations. This strategic role is paramount to embedding a culture of excellence, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring every product exceeds national and international standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic QMS Leadership

  • System Design:

Develop and refine an overarching QMS aligned with global standards (ISO 9001) and industry best practices.
- Policy Enforcement:

Establish guidelines governing the full product lifecycle, from raw material sourcing to final dispatch.
- Cultural Champion:

Promote a prevention-focused quality culture across Design, Procurement, Production, and Sales.
- Strategic Planning:

Set ambitious quality KPIs and targets in alignment with business goals.

2. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Data-Driven Insights:

Analyze quality trends to identify systemic root causes of defects across the value chain.
- Methodology Leadership:

Lead initiatives using
Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen

to reduce variability and eliminate waste.
- Design Integration:

Collaborate with R&D to implement "Design for Quality" principles, ensuring manufacturability.
- Process Control:

Implement monitoring measures to maintain consistent output quality.

3. Regulatory Compliance & Auditing

  • Mandatory Standards:

Ensure absolute adherence to
BIS Hallmarking

(Gold, Silver, Platinum).
- Ethical Sourcing:

Align with
Kimberley Process

and
RJC

guidelines for metals and gemstones.
- Audit Management:

Plan and execute internal/external audits to assess QMS effectiveness and drive corrective actions.
- Liaison:

Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections and third-party certifications.

4. Risk & Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA)

  • Risk Mitigation:

Identify potential quality vulnerabilities throughout the supply chain and manufacturing phases.
- Supplier Programs:

Develop SQA programs to qualify and monitor performance for raw materials (diamonds, gemstones, metals).
- Supplier Audits:

Collaborate with procurement to resolve supplier issues and drive performance improvements.

5. Talent Development & Leadership

  • Team Building:

Recruit and mentor a high-performing QA team of specialists and auditors.
- Organizational Training:

Design and deliver quality awareness programs for all employees.
- Cross-Functional Synergy:

Facilitate collaboration between QA, QC, Design, and Customer Service.

6. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Metric Management:

Track Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), Defect Prevention Rates, and Customer Satisfaction.
- Executive Reporting:

Provide strategic insights and performance reports to senior management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education:

Bachelor's in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Gemology. Master's degree or
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

highly preferred.
- Industry Expertise:

15–20 years in Jewellery QA/QM with deep knowledge of casting, setting, polishing, and plating.
- Technical Knowledge:

Expert-level understanding of
GIA 4Cs

for diamonds; GIA GG certification is highly desirable.
- Analytical Tools:

Proven track record with SPC, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Leadership:

Exceptional ability to influence and manage diverse teams at all levels.
- Systems:

Proficiency in ERP and QMS software.
