Spectro engineer

1. Laboratory Management

· Oversee all lab activities related to chemical, mechanical, and physical testing of metals and molding materials.

· Supervise and guide lab technicians in daily testing and reporting.

· Maintain lab documentation, calibration records, and test certificates.

· Ensure compliance with ISO/TS standards, internal SOPs, and customer specifications.

2. Chemical Analysis

· Operate and maintain Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES) or wet analysis equipment for chemical composition analysis.

· Monitor and control metal composition during melting and pouring.

· Maintain master standards and calibration samples for Spectro analysis.

3. Mechanical & Microstructural Testing

· Conduct tensile, hardness, impact, and microstructure tests (as applicable).

· Interpret metallurgical results and suggest corrective actions for process improvement.

· Maintain equipment such as UTM, hardness tester, polishing machine, and microscope.

4. Sand and Core Testing

· Conduct sand property tests — GFN, compactability, permeability, moisture, and compressive strength.

· Monitor core sand quality and binder ratios.

· Recommend adjustments to molding and core shop teams based on test results.

5. Quality Systems & Documentation

· Maintain inspection reports, calibration records, and traceability logs.

· Prepare and present lab data during customer audits and quality reviews.
