Role:

The Application Deployment Engineer is responsible for the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of software applications within an organization's IT infrastructure. This role ensures that applications are efficiently and securely deployed, meeting the requirements of both the development and operations teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the deployment process for new applications and updates, ensuring minimal disruption to the business.
  • Automate deployment processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Coordinate with development teams to understand application requirements and deployment specifications.
  • Implement and manage configuration management tools to maintain version control and consistency across environments.
  • Ensure all applications are configured according to best practices and security guidelines.
  • Monitor the performance and health of deployed applications, troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Provide ongoing support for application deployments, including patch management and updates.
  • Collaborate with the IT support team to address and resolve user-reported issues related to application functionality.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of deployment processes, configurations, and any changes made to applications.
  • Generate reports on deployment activities, application performance, and system health for management review.
  • Work closely with software developers, QA engineers, and IT operations to ensure seamless application delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on deployment status and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure that all deployments comply with organizational security policies and industry regulations.
  • Implement security measures to protect applications and data during deployment.
Required Skills:
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in application deployment, configuration management, and system administration.
  • Experience with deployment automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Relevant certifications such as DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer, or similar.
