Senior Director of Product Management, for the Akana team at Perforce is searching for a Product Owner to join the team. The Product Owner at Perforce will lead the product at all stages of the product lifecycle and closely partner with customers. The product owner will also work collaboratively with all colleagues in the Research & Development, Marketing and Sales organizations to drive product improvement and new product development, and to ensure the successful business performance of the product. The Akana product at Perforce is an enterprise API management solution handling mission critical core applications for some of the largest corporations in the world. Frequently ranked as a top vendor for API Management, the Akana solution and expertise helps leading organizations take APIs from strategy and design to deployment and optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Own the product backlog, prioritize customer reported bugs/feature requests based on business value, technical feasibility, and team velocity
• Define epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria that reflect stakeholder needs, architectural and QA guidance
• Work with Support teams to ensure that correct information is gathered for a support case
• Serve as the primary contact for user story clarification and prioritization throughout the sprint
• Work closely with Scrum Master and Engineering Manager to remove blockers and optimize team performance
• Collaborate with engineering to break down high-level initiatives into deliverable increments
• Work closely with QA team to ensure that Definition of Done (DoD) are consistently met
• Work with technical documentation team to review release notes and documentation

Requirements:

• 2-4 years' experience required
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field preferred.
• Developer or QA background with strong understanding of API development lifecycle preferred
• Technical fluency in OAuth2, JWT, TLS/mTLS, and microservices architecture preferred
• Understanding of Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud-native deployment patterns preferred
• Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban) and working experience with Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
• Familiarity with any API gateway such as Kong, Apigee, APISIX preferred
• Certified Product Owner (e.g., CSPO, SAFe POPM) is a plus
