Position Title: Jr. Lab Chemist

Department: Operations

Location: Vapi, Gujarat

Reports Directly to: General Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Lab Chemist with a strong background in paper coating to join our Quality Control team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with paper QC processes, environmental controls such as humidity and temperature regulation, and will be responsible for conducting trials, analyzing results, and preparing detailed reports to optimize coating performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and specialized Quality Control tests on paper coating materials and finished products to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Monitor and control environmental parameters including humidity, temperature, and heating conditions essential for coating processes.
  • Perform trial runs using trial-and-error approaches to develop and improve coating formulations and application techniques.
  • Analyze coating quality parameters such as surface properties, adhesion, thickness, and uniformity.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accurate testing.
  • Prepare and present detailed test reports with data interpretation, highlighting deviations and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Production and R&D teams to resolve quality issues and support process optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the lab.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all lab activities, trials, and QC results.
  • Stay updated with latest developments in paper coating technologies and QC methodologies.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Paper Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in paper coating, paper QC, or related laboratory environment.
  • Strong knowledge of paper coating processes, environmental controls (humidity, heating), and coating quality parameters.
  • Proficient in using laboratory instruments and performing routine QC tests.
  • Skilled in data analysis and reporting with attention to detail.
  • Ability to conduct trial-and-error experiments and optimize coating formulations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental compliance standards in lab operations.

Working Conditions:

  • Working Days: Monday to Friday, Saturday (Work from Home – 5hours)
  • Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Compensation: Competitive, based on qualification and experience
